A year later, King Henri died, and Mary became Queen of Scotland and France. However, her reign of France was brief, for in 1560 Francis became ill and died.

Mary was sent to France to marry the Dauphin at age 5 and a half. She was raised with a great education to be Queen of Scotland, Queen consort of France and maybe ruler of England.
