At moments, these sounds emerge in the score for this psychological drama, directed by Billy Wilder and starring Ray Milland and Jane Wyman. Rózsa’s score practically saved the picture and was nominated, but lost to himself for the score of “Spellbound”, which was also nominated in the same year. In 1945, the already highly respected Rózsa became a professor of film scoring at the University of Southern California (USC), where he would remain for the next twenty years.
