Minnie Marx. Minnie Marx, nascuda Miene Schönberg ( Dornum, Regne de Hannover, 9 de novembre de 1864 – Nova York, 13 de setembre de 1929), [1] arpista, fou la mare i també la representant dels Germans Marx, família d'artistes de vodevil, i actors de Broadway i de cinema, i també germana de l'estrella del vodevil Al Shean .
His parents were Sam Marx (known by his nickname "Frenchie"/"Frenchy") and his wife, Minnie Schoenberg Marx, sister of comedian and Vaudeville performer Al Shean. Marx's family was Jewish. His mother was from East Frisia , Germany, [20] and his father, a tailor, [21] [22] was from Alsace , which was part of the Second French Empire at the time the elder Marx was born and for most of his childhood.

Minnie soon replaced Mabel O’Donnell with Lou Levy and added another son, Adolph (later known as Arthur, then Harpo.) The Four Nightingales toured the Eastern and Southern United States extensively in 1908 and 1909. When the Marx family moved to Chicago in 1909, Minnie expanded the act to a sextet adding herself and her sister Hannah.
