On January 27, 2011, a new logo for the media company was unveiled. The new logo, colored in violet, was simplified and removed the NBC peacock and the Universal globe outline. It was reported that executives found the old logo "busy". The new logo was created by Wolff Olins, which also helped design a new type style on which the logo was based.
The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) has used several corporate logos over the course of its history. The first logo was used in 1926 when the radio network began operations. Its most famous logo, the peacock, was first used in 1956 to highlight the network's color programming.

It is in the middle and is horizontally divided by the name of the television company, so the circle looks like two mirror-arranged arches. This is the so-called rotating planet, inherited from the symbolism of Universal Pictures and stylized as a circle with a thin rim.
