Hace 2 días · Old Saxon (Altsächsisch), also known as Old Low German (Altniederdeutsch), is a West Germanic language. It is documented from the 9th century until the 12th century, when it evolved into Middle Low German. It was spoken on the north-west coast of Germany by Saxon peoples.
4 de may. de 2024 · It's possible some English dialects exist that retain more similarities to the older forms, and thereby old Frisian, than the standardized dialects currently in use today. And to be fair, there are very similar cognates in all West Germanic languages that still exist today.
