Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is a Catholic day school associated with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and fully accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. We serve students in Pre-K to 8th grade at our Montecito California campus.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, mindful of its mission to be witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students of any race, color, and national and/or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available to students at this school.
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School opened on September 26, 1933 under the administration of the Sisters Servants of the Blessed Sacrament (SJS), a Roman Catholic order of Religious Sisters who came to the United States from Mexico in 1926. The school started with seven students and four sisters.
