Rio Bravo and High Noon are both held in high regard, though the latter is a significantly darker tale than Wayne's unofficial remake.

Much of "High Noon" was shot at Columbia State Historic Park, which contains many old buildings from the Gold Rush era. There is a real Hadleyville in the United States.

The Oscar winning song writer, Ned Washington wrote the lyrics and Dmitri Tiomkin composed the music. Since it was first written, "The Ballad of High Noon" has been recorded by nine artists.
