Picardy (/ ˈ p ɪ k ər d i /, Picard and French: Picardie, French: ⓘ, Picard: [pika(ː)rdi]) is a historical territory and a former administrative region of France. Since 1 January 2016, it has been part of the new region of Hauts-de-France. It is located in the northern part of France.

Picardy, former région of France. The region belongs to the Paris Basin and is essentially flat, with elevations below 1,000 feet (300 metres). The calcareous plateaus of Laon, Soissons, and Valois rise to the east. The Somme River flows from the east to the northwest across much of the area.
