Pollok Country Park is a 146-hectare (361-acre) country park located between Shawlands, Crossmyloof, and Pollok in Glasgow, Scotland. In 2007, Pollok Country Park was named Britain's Best Park, and in 2008 it was named the Best Park in Europe, beating competition from parks in Italy, France, Germany, Poland and Sweden.

Pollok is the largest of Glasgow's many parks and the only country park within the city boundary. The Burrell is nestled right in the middle, almost like a hidden treasure trove waiting to be discovered.
This is Glasgow’s biggest park , and the only Country Park actually within Glasgow. It covers 146 hectares of woodland, grassland and gardens - and the River Cart , a tributary of the Clyde, runs through it. Historic 18th century Pollok House is situated within it, as is the wonderful Burrell Collection.

The park is located in the southwest of Glasgow, just 3 miles from the city centre ( What’s On Glasgow ). It was originally part of the Old Pollok Estate, which served as the home to the Maxwell family for over 700 years ( Wikipedia ).
