A Irmandade Pré-Rafaelita (Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood ou PRB em inglês), também chamada Fraternidade Pré-Rafaelita ou, simplesmente, Pré-Rafaelitas, foi um grupo artístico fundado em Inglaterra em 1848 por Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Holman Hunt e John Everett Millais e dedicado principalmente à pintura.
Le mouvement préraphaélite a été fondé en 1848 lorsque les trois fondateurs, Hunt, Rosetti et Millais, se sont rencontrés dans la maison des parents de John Millais à Londres, en Angleterre. L’art préraphaélite admirait les détails, les couleurs et la composition de l’art du quattrocento.
The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood (PRB), founded in September 1848, is the most significant British artistic grouping of the nineteenth century. Its fundamental mission was to purify the art of its time by returning to the example of medieval and early Renaissance painting.

2 de ene. de 2018 · As iniciais PRB (Pré-Raphaelite Broterhood - Irmandade Pré-Rafaelita) são usadas pela primeira vez na pintura A Infância de Maria Virgem de D.G. Rosssetti em 1849, e logo são adotadas pelos outros pintores. Ao se decifrar o significado da sigla em 1850, diversas críticas públicas são feitas aos pré-rafaelitas.
A Confraria, ou Irmandade, Pré-Rafaelita ( Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood – “PRB”) inaugurou-se, em 1848, na casa dos pais de John Everett Millais, em Londres, configurando um movimento poético, pictórico e de crítica de arte, emoldurado no coração mesmo do segundo romantismo inglês.
