7 de ago. de 2017 · Princess Amelia was born at Windsor Castle on August 7, 1783, the youngest and 15th child of King George III and his wife, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Reportedly her father’s favorite child, who called her “Emily,” she came on the heels of the deaths of two older siblings, Princes Octavius and Alfred, both of which hit her parents hard.
Princess Amelia of the United Kingdom was the youngest of the fifteen children of King George III and Queen Charlotte. She was her father's favourite child, and he affectionately called her "Emily". When Amelia died of tuberculosis at the age of 27, her father, who suffered from inconsistent mental health, had a mental breakdown and never recovered.

She was generous and helped young women. The Princess donated £100 to the society for educating poor orphans of clergymen to help pay for a school for 21 of these orphaned daughters.
