Princess Amelia first appeared in Lloyd's Register ( LR) in 1803. [1] Captain Peter Bogle acquired a letter of marque on 24 June 1803. However, he had sailed from London on 26 March. She also acted as hostess for her unmarried brother Prince William, Duke of Cumberland, who had a career in the Royal Army, whenever he was in England. George III was born on 4 June 1738, the eldest son of Frederick, Prince of Wales, and Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha. He became heir to the throne on the death of his father in 1751, succeeding his grandfather, George II, in 1760.
