  5. Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) is an Infantry Regiment in the Canadian Forces. The PPCLI Regiment is divided into three Battalions which serve as mechanized, light, and parachute deployable into various operations.

  6. Symbolism. The crown represents service to the Sovereign. The cypher and coronet are those of H.R.H. Princess Patricia, the granddaughter of Queen Victoria, who granted the regiment the right to bear her name. "PRINCESS PATRICIA'S CANADIAN LIGHT INFANTRY" is the regimental title.

  7. The Regiment was best known to the public as “Princess Pats” or merely the “Pats”, but this partial abbreviation is discouraged and the Regiment prefers to be known as the “Patricia’s”.
