5 de feb. de 2024 · For decades, Antarctica has been the home of science and an example for preservation governance. The International Polar Foundation heralded the return of Belgium on the continent with the first ever “zero emission” station: Princess Elisabeth Antarctica.

Brussels, May 30 2022 – After 15 years, the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica - the first ever zero emission polar research station - remains the global benchmark in reducing the environmental footprint of conducting polar research and supporting scientists in their research about Earth and its climate system.
24 de oct. de 2016 · The Princess Elisabeth station is a Belgian research station in Antarctica, at 72º South and 23º East, around 200 km from the coastline. The world’s first zero emission polar research station, Princess Elisabeth Antarctica, welcomes scientists from around the world to conduct research in this little-studied and pristine environment, close to East Antarctica’s Sør Rondane Mountains. An International Scientific facility.
30 de may. de 2022 · “Princess Elisabeth Antarctica” is the first and still the only zero emission polar research station powered exclusively by wind and solar energy. For 13 years now, the station has served international scientists as a base for their field research.
