Richard Cromwell (4 October 1626 – 12 July 1712) was an English statesman, the second and final Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland and the son of the first Lord Protector, Oliver Cromwell.
Its most famous members are: Thomas Cromwell, 1st Earl of Essex; and, Oliver Cromwell, the Lord Protector. The line of Oliver Cromwell descends from Richard Williams (alias Cromwell), son of Thomas Cromwell's sister Katherine and her husband Morgan Williams.

Henry Cromwell (born January 20, 1628, Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire, England—died March 23, 1674, Spinney Abbey, Cambridgeshire) was the fourth son of Oliver Cromwell and the British ruler of Ireland from 1657 to 1659. Cromwell studied at the University of Cambridge and Gray’s Inn, London.
His grandfather, his father, and two of his uncles had attended Lincoln's Inn, and Cromwell sent his son Richard there in 1647. Cromwell probably returned home to Huntingdon after his father's death.
