Rintaro Okabe (岡部 倫太郎, Okabe Rintarō?), often nicknamed Okarin (オカリン) or Hououin Kyouma (鳳凰院 凶真, Hōōin Kyōma), is a self-proclaimed insane mad scientist.

Rintaro Okabe (岡部 倫太郎 Okabe Rintarō?), often nicknamed Okarin (オカリン) or Hououin Kyouma (鳳凰院凶真), is a self-proclaimed mad scientist and the main protagonist of the Steins;Gate series. Okabe is a theatrical and eccentric individual.
Okabe sees Luka as Mayuri's classmate and his student in swordsmanship (though the latter is mostly Luka playing along with Okabe's delusions). When Luka is changed into a girl by his D-Mail, Okabe, under the impression that the D-Mail did not work, unintentionally sexually harasses Luka by grabbing her crotch in an attempt to prove Luka's gender.
Okabe "Okarin" Rintaro (岡部 倫太郎, Okabe Rintarō) The player assumes the role of Okabe Rintaro, the protagonist of Steins;Gate. Rintaro is an eccentric individual, a self-proclaimed mad scientist who often goes by the pseudonym Hououin Kyouma (鳳凰院 凶真, Hōōin Kyōma).
It is set in 2010 in Akihabara, Tokyo, and follows Rintaro Okabe, a self-proclaimed "mad scientist", who runs the "Future Gadget Laboratory" in an apartment together with his friends Mayuri Shiina and Itaru "Daru" Hashida.
