  4. 28 de abr. de 2024 · Boyle’s Law, named after the Anglo-Irish physicist Robert Boyle, who published his findings in 1662, is one of the earliest descriptions of the behaviour of gases under varying pressures. In France, the physicist Edme Mariotte independently discovered the same principle around 1676, nearly 14 years after Boyle’s publication.

  5. 2 de may. de 2024 · Boyle observed that the product of the pressure and volume are observed to be nearly constant. The product of pressure and volume is exactly a constant for an ideal gas: \(\LARGE pV=\text{constant}\) This relationship between pressure and volume is called Boyle’s Law in his honor.

  6. Hace 4 días · 1660 – Sir Robert Boyle conducted an experiment on a bird in an air pump. This predated actual intentional investigations into decompression, but the experiment was effectively a rapid decompression and caused the death of the bird by asphyxiation.
