The ninth season of RuPaul's Drag Race announced its cast on February 2, 2017 and began airing on March 24, 2017. The winner of Season 9 walked out with the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar" and a cash prize of $100,000. This season, the show moved to VH1.
On June 23, 2017, Sasha Velour was crowned as America's Next Drag Superstar, with Peppermint placing as the runner up. Valentina won the title of Miss Congeniality.
