Sandringham House, Gardens and St Mary Magdalene Church are now open from 23 March - 11 October excluding closure between 19 July - 4 August, from 10am -5pm (last entry 4pm). Sandringham Members, Carers, RHS Members, HHA Members and Children Under 17 are free, however tickets must still be obtained to visit the House and Gardens.
In 1891 there was a serious fire on the top floor and Edis repaired the damage adding a range of staff bedrooms. Edward VII’s Sandringham served his successors well but early in the present reign it was decided that the house was too big for the needs of the royal family and in 1975 ninety one rooms service and domestic rooms were demolished.
