Set in the 22nd century, the series follows the adventures of the first Starfleet starship Enterprise, registration NX-01. In this episode, while in search of deuterium, Enterprise discovers a mining colony that is being controlled by Klingons who are bullying the inhabitants and hoarding their supplies.

Q'ell Jesse James Rutherford ( born 21 August 1991 ; age 32) is the former actor turned singer who played Q'ell in the Star Trek: Enterprise second season episode " Marauders ". He filmed his scenes in end- August 2002 on location in Ventura County , California.

Trip meets a boy named Q'ell, who sneaked into the shuttle out of curiosity. Trip explains about the shuttle, making Q'ell even more curious, so Trip offers him a tour of Enterprise . The crew then finds out that the colony is poor, which makes Archer suspicious because they have so much deuterium and are expecting a deadline.
