By her marriage to Hugh XI of Lusignan, the eldest uterine half-brother of King Henry III of England, she became Countess of La Marche and of Angoulême.

John Lestrange, 4th Lord Strange (of Blackmere) was born circa 1332 at Whitchurch, Hampshire, England.2 He was the son of John Lestrange, 2nd Lord Strange (of Blackmere).2 He married Mary FitzAlan, daughter of Edmund Fitzalan, 9th Earl of Arundel and Alice de Warenne.1 He died on 12 May 1361.3.

Hence William Marshall became the 4th Earl through his wife, but then then was created the 1st Earl of Pembroke himself ten years after their marriage.
