Beginning with the 2018–2019 year, for CalTPA Multiple Subject submissions, no translation is required if the language of instruction is Spanish. In 2007 a qualitative study done by Au Wayne demonstrated that standardized testing narrows the curriculum and encourages teacher-centered instruction instead of student-centered learning .
