Formed in March 1969 by brothers Duane (guitar) and Gregg Allman (organ, vocals), the group originally also included guitarist and vocalist Dickey Betts , bassist Berry Oakley , and drummers Butch Trucks and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson .
