Milan Zekavica. Mike Woodsum. The Escape Club are an English pop rock band that was formed in London in 1983. They are best known for their 1988 No. 1 US hit "Wild, Wild West" and for their top-ten 1991 hit "I'll Be There".

The Escape Club, which includes lead singer Trevor Steel, lead guitarist John Holliday, bassist Johnnie Christo, and drummer Milan Zekavica, broke out of London’s club scene and signed with EMI Records in 1986.
The Beginning. The Escape Club formed in London, England in 1982 from the remains of two bands; The Expressos and Mad Shadows. Their founding members were; Trevor Steel, John Holliday, Johnnie Christo and Milan Zekavica. Both bands, Mad Shadows and the Expressos had done quite well on the gig circuit.

Lead singer Trevor Steel and lead guitarist John Holliday were members of Mad Shadows, but when their drummer left, Espressos drummer Milan Zekavica was invited to join. By 1983, bass player Johnnie Christo had also been recruited by Mad Shadows and the group, renamed as Escape Club, began to play shows.
