Hace 5 días · Whilst visiting Coniston in the Lake District, I was surprised to discover the grave of John Ruskin, Pater’s contemporary, and colleague. The tallest in the cemetery, its well-preserved Art Nouveau elements perfectly capture the critic’s artistic legacy. Ruskin’s elaborate memorial cast a sour shadow on Pater’s near-unmarked resting place.
