バーゼル大学 （ 英語: University of Basel 、公用語表記: ドイツ語: Universität Basel ）は、 スイス バーゼル に本部を置く スイス の 公立大学 。 1460年 創立、 1460年 大学設置。 沿革. 1432年 、 バーゼル公会議 により、 パリ大学 ・ ボローニャ大学 をモデルとする高等教育機関が創設されたが、会議の他所への移行とともにこれは解消した。 その後、バーゼル市参事会の請願に応じ ローマ教皇 ピウス2世 の 1459年 11月12日付けの勅書により ボローニャ大学 を模範とするバーゼル大学が設立され、 1460年 4月4日をもって開学した。 定款は 1447年 設立の エアフルト大学 のものに近いものであった。
