Two knights confront each other in a stylised forest announcing the shift to abstraction. ln the paintings here entitled "Improvisations", Wassily Kandinsky summons up images tram his imagination, as in this scene which he prepared in a drawing that belongs ta the Museum, in which we can make out two knights and a tree.
