Any narrator that infers something incorrectly or does not know something is NOT an unreliable narrator. A narrator who PURPOSEFULLY knows and keeps something from the audience IS. That’s the problem. Too many people think that because a narrator doesn’t REVEAL the entire story makes them unreliable. That’s just incorrect. And it’s fact. Because — As OP is trying to suggest — NO. Not every first person narrator is an unreliable narrator.
