Michael Crichton directed Westworld from an original screenplay that he had written. MGM only agreed to let Michael Crichton direct his movie if he could make it for 1.3 million dollars (which was a very small budget even back in 1973) and if shooting lasted only 30 days. Michael Crichton reluctantly agreed and shooting began in the Spring of 1972.

Westworld was the first theatrical feature novelist Michael Crichton directed, after one TV movie. It was also the first feature film to use digital image processing to pixellate photography in order to simulate an android's point of view. The film was nominated for Hugo, Nebula and Saturn awards. The film was well received by critics.
Written by on December 14, 2016. Delos is a futuristic amusement park that features themed worlds—ancient Rome, Medieval times and the Old West—populated by human-like androids. After two patrons have a run-in with a menacing gunslinger in West World, the androids at Delos all begin to malfunction, causing havoc throughout the park.
