George Grenville (14 October 1712 – 13 November 1770) was a British Whig statesman who rose to the position of Prime Minister of Great Britain. Grenville was born into an influential political family and first entered Parliament in 1741 as an MP for Buckingham .

George Grenville (1712-1770) was a Whig politician, a member of the British parliament and prime minister of Britain between April 1763 and July 1765. He is best known as prime minister during the passing of the Stamp Act. Born into a wealthy and powerful family, Grenville was educated at Eton and Oxford, graduating with a law degree in 1735.
