Since 1917 all of Britain’s monarchs have belonged to the House of Windsor. The Family of Queen Elizabeth II. Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952. In 1960 she made a further change to the royal family’s name. By then, the House of Windsor had become very big, and everyone in it used the name Windsor.
