Eduard Bloch (30 January 1872 – 1 June 1945) was an Austrian physician practicing in Linz, who, for many years until 1907, was the family doctor of Adolf Hitler and his family. When Hitler's mother, Klara, was dying of breast cancer , Bloch billed the family at a reduced cost and sometimes refused to bill them outright.

Background. When the Nazi government came to power, they purged Germany of its 6,000 to 7,000 Jewish doctors. [7] Non-Jewish physicians were early recruits to the Nazi Party, due both to social and economic circumstances and to widespread eugenic and Social Darwinist ideas in early-20th-century medicine. [8]

9 de ene. de 2023 · Hitler gave orders that his former family doctor was to be placed under special protection by the Gestapo in Austria, shielding Bloch from an uncertain fate. Hitler remarked, "Dr. Bloch is an Edeljude — a noble Jew.
Conclusions: For nine years, Dr Theodor Morell had almost exclusive access to Hitler. Hitler, an illness phobic, lied about his medical history, refused to be examined except in the most superficial fashion and tended to accept or reject treatment according to his whim.
