Guillaume Farel (Fareau [1] en occitan vivaro-alpin), né dans le village des Fareaux [coord 1] (commune de Gap) en 1489, et mort à Neuchâtel le 13 septembre 1565, est l'un des pionniers du mouvement de la réforme protestante et a joué un rôle important dans l’expansion du protestantisme en Suisse romande.
