The Lincoln family is an American family of English origins. It includes the fourth United States Attorney General, Levi Lincoln Sr., governors Levi Lincoln Jr. (of Massachusetts) and Enoch Lincoln (of Maine), and Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States.

Nancy Hanks (1784 - 1818) - She died when Abraham was young and shortly after the childbirth of her third child. Her ancestry is disputed, but according to Lincoln, his mother was a Hanks.
According to the date on his tombstone, Thomas Lincoln was born on January 6, 1778. His place of birth was in Rockingham County, Virginia, and he was the fourth of five children born to Abraham and Bathsheba Lincoln. Thomas Lincoln moved to the state of Kentucky in the 1780s with his family.

Family: Thomas Lincoln (1853-1871) - Mr. Lincoln's White House. The youngest Lincoln son was named after Abraham Lincoln’s father, Thomas, but “Tad’s” nickname stemmed from his father’s belief that he resembled a tadpole at birth. He was rambunctious child who was a favorite of his father, particularly after the death of his bosom brother, Willie.
