In 1448–9 Somerset was herald of Edmund Beaufort, Duke of Somerset, but he must have been a royal officer in 1485, when he was the only herald to receive coronation liveries.

  4. Hace 3 días · His lady was daughter of Thomas Lord Howard, of Bindon, son of the Duke of Norfolk, by Elizabeth, daughter of the Duke of Buckingham. She died October 8th, 1639. The east side of the chapel is defaced by a clumsy pyramid of black and white marble supporting a small urn containing the heart of Esme Stuart, son of the Duke of Richmond and Lenox, by the Lady Mary, daughter of the Duke of Buckingham.

  5. Hace 1 día · Margaret's heir at her death in 1439 was her son John Beaufort, duke of Somerset. He died in 1444 leaving an infant daughter Margaret, later wife of Edmund Tudor, earl of Richmond. As Lady Margaret, countess of Richmond and Derby and mother of Henry VII, she died in 1509.

  7. 16 de may. de 2024 · While his Welsh subjects were installing Tudor iconography and visual expressions of loyalty, Henry Tudor was ‘not unmindful of Wales’, commissioning Sir Rhys ap Thomas to create a new tomb for his father, Edmund Tudor, earl of Richmond, which would sit in the church of the Greyfriars at Carmarthen, later removed to St David’s Cathedral.
