Bertalan Szemere (27 August 1812 – 18 January 1869) was a Hungarian poet and nationalist who became the third Prime Minister of Hungary during the short period of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 when Hungary was independent of rule by the Austrian Empire.

Szemerei Szemere Bertalan ( de genere Huba) ( Vatta, 1812. augusztus 27. – Buda, 1869. január 18.) magyar politikus, országgyűlési képviselő, író, jogtudós, az első felelős magyar kormány belügyminisztere, majd a Magyar Királyság második miniszterelnöke az 1848–49-es forradalom és szabadságharc alatt.
Bertalan Szemere, né le 27 août 1812 à Vatta (royaume de Hongrie) et mort le 18 janvier 1869 à Pest, fut un poète, homme d'État et héros national hongrois. Bertalan Szemere (27 Ağustos 1812 - 18 Ocak 1869), Macar şair ve Macaristan'ın üçüncü başbakanı. İlk yılları. Szemere, Vatta fakir bir ailenin çocuğu olarak dünyaya geldi. Babası Major László Szemere, annesi Erzsébet Karove idi. Öğrenimini Miskolc, Késmárk ve Sárospatak şehirlerinde geçirdi.
