Abbott Elementary is an American mockumentary sitcom television series created by Quinta Brunson for ABC. It stars Brunson as Janine Teagues, a perpetually optimistic second-grade teacher at the underfunded Abbott Elementary, a fictional predominantly Black school in Philadelphia.

Philena McKeen (June 13, 1822 – May 13, 1898) was an American educator and the 11th principal of Abbot Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. During her thirty-year tenure, she managed the school in its "Golden Age" and established a curriculum that "educated for life." [1] [2] Early life.

Abbot Academy. "Enter into the understanding that you may go forth into nobler living," proclaim the Abbot Gates. One of the first educational institutions in New England founded for girls and women, Abbot Academy opened its doors to seventy students on May 6, 1829 and flourished until Abbot Academy and Phillips Academy merged on June 28, 1973.
In the 1920s and 1930s, the campus underwent a major expansion around this historic core, thanks, in large part, to the vision and philanthropy of alumnus Thomas Cochran, Class of 1890. Phillips Academy is almost as old as the United States. (We are, in fact, the oldest incorporated boarding school in the country.) Let that sink in.
