The club's home ground is the 31,876-capacity Falmer Stadium in Falmer, in the north east of Brighton . Founded in 1901 and nicknamed the "Seagulls" or "Albion", Brighton played their early professional football in the Southern League, before being elected to the Football League in 1920.

Falmer Stadium, (sometimes called the American Express Community Stadium or the Amex) is a football stadium in the village of Falmer, Sussex. It is the home of Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.. The stadium was finished on 31 May 2011.
Falmer is a small village and civil parish in the Lewes District of East Sussex, England, lying between Brighton and Lewes, approximately five miles (8 km) north-east of the former. It is also the site of Brighton & Hove Albion's Falmer Stadium. Falmer village is divided by the A27 road.
