The Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple is a Hindu temple situated in the hills of Tirumala at Tirupati in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared on the earth to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga.
The district derives its name from Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy of Tirumala Hills and Tirupati is its headquarters town. It is located between the Northern Latitudes of 130 21′ 54″ and 140- 8′ 32″ and between the Eastern Longitudes 790 5′ 42″ and 800 4′ 10″.
