Peter Thomas Gosar (born December 29, 1967) [citation needed] is an American politician. Gosar was the Democratic nominee for Governor of Wyoming in 2014 but lost to Republican Matt Mead. Gosar also served as chair of the Wyoming Democratic Party and as chair of the Wyoming Board of Education.

Gosar's brother Pete is a former chairman of the Wyoming Democratic Party and was a candidate for governor of Wyoming in 2010 and 2014. In 1981, Gosar received his B.S. degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1985, he earned his D.D.S. from the Boyne School of Dentistry at Creighton. Early career

The election coincided with elections to other federal and state offices. Incumbent Republican Governor Matt Mead ran for re-election to a second term in office. Mead won the election with 59% of the vote, defeating Democrat Pete Gosar, Independent candidate Don Wills and Libertarian Dee Cozzens.
