The second son of Owen Tudor, founder of the family’s fortunes, he was knighted in 1449 and created earl of Pembroke about 1452.

BORN: c. 1431. DIED: 1495. Son of Owen Tudor and Katherine of Valois (widow of Henry V) and half brother of Henry VI. Brother of Edmund Tudor (father of the future Henry VII ). Jasper played a major role on behalf of the Lancastians in the Wars of the Roses and was with his nephew Henry Tudor in exile in Brittany.
( c. 1431–95). The second son of Owen Tudor and Catherine of Valois, Jasper was created earl of Pembroke in 1452. He was one of the few die‐hard Lancastrians. Ruling Wales on behalf of Henry VI from 1457, he refused to come to terms with Edward IV after 1461.
