Hace 2 días · The House of Tudor (/ ˈ tj uː d ər /) was an English and Welsh dynasty that held the throne of England from 1485 to 1603. They descended from the Tudors of Penmynydd, a Welsh noble family, and Catherine of Valois.

Hace 2 días · Then, in August 1485, Henry Tudor and his uncle, Jasper Tudor, landed in Wales with a contingent of French troops, and marched through Pembrokeshire, recruiting soldiers. Henry's forces defeated Richard's army near the Leicestershire town of Market Bosworth. Richard was slain, making him the last English king to die in battle.

20 de abr. de 2024 · Lancastrians – Around 6,000 men led by Henry Tudor Earl of Richmond supported by Jasper Tudor Earl of Pembroke, John de Vere Earl of Oxford, Sir Gilbert Talbot, Sir Philibert de Chandee and Rhys ap Thomas. Result – A decisive Lancastrian victory. Richard III was killed on the battlefield and the House of York was overthrown.

When he recovered from his illness, Francis paid the expenses of the Lancastrian supporters of Henry Tudor who remained in Brittany to travel to France where Henry and Jasper had fled before Landais could send them back to Richard.
