On Tuesday, 9 April, a festive meeting commemorating the 676th anniversary of the founding of Charles University took place in the Great Hall of the historic Carolinum building. On this occasion, the Miloslav Petrusek Prize for Presentation and Promotion and the Bedřich Hrozný Prize for Creative Achievement were awarded.
Founded in 1348, Charles University is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the center of Europe. It belongs to the top 2 % of universities worldwide, with more than 20 % of international students from 130 countries.
Charles University Prague served as a meeting place for scholars interested in both the classical tradition and modern thought in the years after the Renaissance. Jan Hus, a famous Czech theologian, and other scholars have permanently marked the intellectual legacy of the university.
