Lester Koenig (December 3, 1917 – November 21, 1977) was an American screenwriter, film producer, and founder of the jazz record label Contemporary Records. Biography. Koenig was born to a Jewish family in New York City, the son of Minna (Harlib) and Morris Koenig.

Lester Koenig (born 3. December 1918 in New York City, died 20. November 1977 in Los Angeles) was an American record producer, founder of the Contemporary Records, Star Records (37) and Good Time Jazz labels, which were well known for their excellent sounding recordings done by engineer Roy DuNann. His son John Koenig also became a producer.
