Arneberg served as an assistant to architect Alfred Christian Dahl in Oslo from 1898 to 1900. Between 1899 and 1902, he was a student at the Royal Drawing School in Oslo under Herman Schirmer. He worked as an assistant to Ole Sverre in Oslo from 1900 to 1903, and then under Gustaf Lindgren in Stockholm until 1906.

The large stone church was built in a long church design in 1932 using plans drawn up by the architect Arnstein Arneberg. The church seats about 800 people.
