Biography. Wilhelm was the eldest son of Frederick William, Duke of Nassau, and his wife, Burgravine Louise Isabelle of Kirchberg. With the Nassau troops, he was involved on the Seventh Coalition 's side in the Battle of Waterloo against Napoleon .
