As of this month, Lifeboat is officially 11 years old, and we think 11 years (a prime number!) is the perfect time to reflect on our time together. We want to acknowledge the ups and downs and express our gratitude for remaining a passionate and dedicated community.
A lifeboat or liferaft is a small, rigid or inflatable boat carried for emergency evacuation in the event of a disaster aboard a ship. Lifeboat drills are required by law on larger commercial ships. Rafts are also used. In the military, a lifeboat may double as a whaleboat, dinghy, or gig.
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We do this through lifeboat search and rescue, lifeguards, water safety education and flood rescue.
