Alejandro Amenábar. (Santiago de Chile, 1972) Cineasta español. Aunque Alejandro Amenábar nació el 31 de marzo de 1972 en la capital chilena, sólo residió en su ciudad natal hasta agosto del año siguiente, cuando sus padres, dos semanas antes del golpe de estado de Augusto Pinochet, decidieron emigrar a España y se instalaron en Madrid.
Tesis es una película española de suspense, del 1996, escrita y dirigida por Alejandro Amenábar y protagonizada por Ana Torrent, Fele Martínez y Eduardo Noriega. Es el primer largometraje de Amenábar.

Is the son of a Spanish mother and a Chilean father. His family moved back to Spain when he was 1 year old, and he grew up and studied in Madrid. He wrote, produced and directed his first short film La cabeza at the age of 19, and he was 23 when he directed his feature debut Thesis (1996).
