Gottlob Frege's Über Sinn und Bedeutung (`On Sense and Reference'), has come to be seen, in the century since its publication in 1892, as one of the seminal texts of analytic philosophy. Abstract. The problems involved with sense and reference differ significantly from those dealt with in the previous chapter.
