Neville was one of the peers who sat in judgement on Anne Boleyn in May 1536 and served Henry VIII as a soldier in the North of England and borders, and Edward VI in Scotland.

Through her mother she was a granddaughter of John of Gaunt. On 12 January 1412, Katherine was married at the age of 12 to John Mowbray, 2nd Duke of Norfolk.
